Their eyes traverse the endless sea of human beings
Pupils dilate as a vast shroud of anticipation covers the scene.
The search becomes more driven, desperate, they do not want,
they need, they must have.
Pacing through the crowd, howling explosions overhead,
a conflagration illuminates the night sky,
flickers of shadows dance across the floor.
Anticipation hightened, senses overloading. Where are you?
Forcing the stagnate spectators out of the way.
They search, longingly. Hope is lost, we are lost
an entire dream of a blissful future up in flames.
The flames that so ironically entertain the crowds,
bright sparks overhead, blues, greens, reds, oranges.
An artificial rainbow decorates the autumn sky,
the crowd release sighs of awe, thunder in the skies.
And there it is, the longing glance locates the other
they pace, run, sprint to their goal, relieved.
Their cause not over, they embrace dotingly.
"I love you." He whispers.
She does not respond, she smiles and steps back,
they embrace again, not with hands, but lips.
A warmth fills both of them, futures rekindled,
they glance up to the finale.
A colourful implosion of joy, happiness and love.
